Graveside service for C.H. "Pappa H" Cowart, 99, a lifelong resident of Flagler County, who died Mon., Feb. 26, 2007, at Florida Hospital Flagler, Palm Coast, will be 10:30 a.m. Thurs., March 1, at Seville Cemetery, Seville. The family will receive friends today (Wednesday) from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. in the chapel of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home, 511 Old Kings Road S., Flagler Beach.
Mr. Cowart was born Feb. 6, 1908, in Seville, to the late Ollie Wesley and Nannie Beatrice Masle Cowart. He was a local cattleman and timberman for many years in Flagler County. Mr. Cowart served 28 continuous years as a Flagler County commissioner. He was a memer of First Baptist Church of Bunnell.
Preceding him in death were his wife, Thera; three sisters, Eula Stone, Effie Turner and Catherine Johnson; and three brothers, Oliver, Wesley and Victor Cowart.
Surviving him are his daughter, Elissa Tilton, Bunnell; son, Charles Howard Cowart, Bunnell; stepdaughter, Imogene Strickland, Bunnell; sister, Juanita (Cowart) Nolan, Seville; nine grandchildren, Chuck Cowart, Rob Cowart, Edee Hurst, Jay Tilton, Jerry Tilton, Jimmie Sue Casale, Jill Garrett, Mark Strickland and Marcy Bentley; numerous great-grandchildren; and great-great-grandchildren.
Memorial contributions are suggested to Baptist Home for Children, 2300 Bartram Road, Jacksonville, FL 32207 Arrangements are under the care and trust of Craig-Flagler Palms Funeral Home.

William Raymond Underhill (1881-1951), 70, father of Marion Underhill, of Barberville, formerly of Palatka, a lifelong resident of West Volusia County, died suddenly Saturday morning. He was born April 28, 1881, in Barberville, and was a well known fern and citrus grower residing in Pierson.
Besides the son Marion, other survivors are his widow, Mrs. W. R. (Eula Reeves) Underhill; sons Thomas Joseph of DeLand and Frank Elmore Underhill, of Barberville; three daughters, Mrs. Russell (Viola) Pierson of Pierson, Mrs. Stewart C. (Anna) Bell of Boniway, and Miss Celia Blanche Underhill, of Barberville; two sisters, Mrs. Martin Crews of California and Mrs. Melissa Cole of Daytona Beach and 10 grandchildren.
The funeral will be held at 2:30 p.m. in the Lutheran Church in Pierson. (Palatka Daily News Obituary dtd Monday, 10 Dec 1951.)
