Glory R. Becks, age 90, of Edgewater, died Saturday, August 15, 2015 at Florida Hospital Memorial Medical Center in Daytona Beach.
Born in Buffalo NY, Ms. Becks moved to this area in 1947 and was once an owner of Northwood Funeral Home in West Palm Beach, and later becoming an owner of a sporting goods store in Riviera Beach. She was a member of Trinity Lutheran Church in New Smyrna Beach. She loved reading, shopping, and baking cakes for everyone.
Survivors include her daughter, Stacy (Ray) Crabtree of Ormond Beach; nephew, Tom (Nancy) Newcomb of North Dakota; dear friend, Marilyn Tucci of Edgewater; four great-nieces; great-great-nieces and nephews; and sister-in-law, Connie Newcomb of Edgewater.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; son, Rob; grandson, Chad Johnson; and brother, Cal Newcomb.
Funeral service will be at 1:00 p.m. Thursday, August 20, 2015 at Settle-Wilder's New Smyrna Beach chapel, with Minister Wiley Lowe officiating. Family will receive friends from 12 noon until service time. Interment will follow at Edgewater/New Smyrna Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggest memorial donations to Florida Hospital Hospice Care, 770 West Granada Blvd., Suite 304, Ormond Beach, FL 32174.
