Parnell Buddy Morris, age 88, of Surrency died Thursday, September 10, 2015
Mr. Morris was born June 24, 1927 in Appling County to the late George Perry Morris and the late Bessie Reddish Morris. He was a member of Woodlawn Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Navy. Mr. Morris was an avid Gardner, Fisherman and loved spending time with grandchildren and great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a grandson Brad Redwine, a son in law Charles Woodall, sister Alene Lightsey, three brothers Benny Morris, Carroll Morris & Jack Morris.
Survivors include his wife, Martha Norris Morris of Surrency; Four daughters & sons in law, Tammy & Kevin Lewis of Baxley, Debbie Woodall of Surrency, Beth Morris of Flowery Branch, Ga. and Margaret & Mike Redwine of Baxley; One son, Randy Morris of Brunswick; A sister, Gloria Ann Warnock of Marietta; Two sisters in law, Geraldine Morris of Macon and Kay Morris of Surrency; 7 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren and a host of nieces and nephews also survive.
Funeral services will be held Saturday, September 12, 2015 at 3:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Swain Funeral Home with Rev. Rick Brown and Rev. Tommy Daniels officiating.
Interment will follow in Milikin Methodist Church Cemetery in Surrency.
Visitation will be Friday evening 6:00 until 8:00 pm at Swain Funeral Home.
Active pallbearers are grandsons, Chuck Woodall, David Redwine, Andy Morris, Gary Morris, Josh McDonald and Kale Lewis.
Honorary pallbearers are present and past bus drivers at Appling County Board of Education, Dr. Errol G. Graham and Staff, Southern Care Hospice, the Pavilion C-Hall Staff and employees, and all in attendance.

James and brother Redding were born in the Prince Williams Parish, Sand Hill district of Beaufort Co, South Carolina.
James Robert Tuten was born in South Carolina and settled in Georgia in the 1850s along with the rest of the Tuten clan. He married Mary Ann Peacock, the daughter of Isham Peacock and Keziah Walker in Ware County in 1860. James was joining his Tuten family who had settled in Ware County around the same time. His father's sister, Kisabeth (Keziah) Tuten came to Ware County before 1855 with her husband Rev. Joseph Tuten and children. Joseph and Keziah were first cousins. They are buried at the Old Minchew Tuten Cemetery in Ware County.
James R. Tuten appears to have been a Confederate Soldier. There is a James R. Tuten who enlisted in Company G of Clinch's 4th GA Calvary.
