Mrs. Sweat Dies After Short Illness
Mrs. Mary Ann Peacock Sweat, 61, died at her home near Alma Monday morning following a short illness.
She was a faithful member of the Beulah Baptist Church for 33 years and taught various Sunday School classes throughout the entire time. She was a respected and beloved member of her community and in her passing a beautiful and useful life has come to an end.
She is survived by her husband, W. R. Sweat; three sons, Archie, Tracy and Cecil Sweat, all of Alma; two sistrs, Mrs. Lena Dixon of Blackshear and Mrs. Kate Davis of Jacksonville; two brothers, W.W. Peacock and J.L. Peacock of Blackshear and eight grandchildren.
Funeral services were held from the Beulah Church Wednesday afternoon with the Rev. E.L. Little, Rev. Dalton Little and Rev.Lige Taylor officiating.
Interment was in the church cemetery.
Pallbearers were Omer Davis, Curtis Sweat, Loren Peacock, Felder Peacock, Ward Peacock, Lawton Mattox, Troy Henderson and Vernon Bowen.
