erved as a 1st Lieutenant in Captain Slone's Company, Florida 7th Infantry Regiment. This company later became Company "F". He enlisted at Camp Lee, Florida on 11 April 1862 for 3 years or the duration of the war. There are numerous entries in his service record. At one time in 1862 he signed the roll as the Commanding Officer of the company. He was listed as absent due to sickness during late 1863. In early 1864 he is shown to be "Absent without Leave". There are other documents where he signed for rations for the Company and pay for himself. The pay for a 1st Lieutenant was $90.00 per month. After the war Christopher settled in Geneva where he died in 1892 and is buried in gravesite 18-b in the Geneva Cemetery.
Brother of John Peter Hart. Mother was Mary Ann Higginotham Hart and father was William Bartola Hart. He also served as Sheriff of Volusia County.

Mr. Eugene Talmadge "Gene" Justice, Sr., 74, died Tuesday afternoon (January 23, 2007) at Baptist Medical Center after an extended illness.
He is a native and lifelong resident of Ware County. He was employed by Singleton's Furniture as a shipping manager for 30 years. He was also a member of Hebardville Baptist Church.
He is the son of the late Perry Lee Justice and Pearl Mae Rouse Justice. He is also preceded in death by a brother, Cecil Justice; a sister and brother-in-law, Mary and Joe Stinson; father-in-law and mother-in-law, Lewis and Goldie Bennett Kitchen; nephew, Steve Harrell; and nephew, Curtis Wood.
Survivors include his wife of 25 years, Audrey Ann Jacobs Justice of Waycross; two daughters, Shirley Denise Rios (husband Javier) of Broxton, and Wendy Mischelle Justice of Valdosta; two sons, Eugene Talmadge Justice, Jr. (wife Paula) of Waycross, and Timothy Michael Justice (wife Lorraine) of Taloga, OK; 8 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren; two brothers, Robert W. Justice (wife Gynetha) of Jamestown, and James D. Bullard (wife Dora) of Jamestown; two sister-in-laws, Mavis Jacobs (husband Rev. Will) of Waycross, and Mary Filer (husband Bob) of Portland, OR; a brother-in-law, Ellis Kitchen (wife Phyllis) of Waycross; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A funeral service will be held 2 p.m. Friday (January 26, 2007) at the Music Funeral Home Chapel. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery. The family will receive friends 7 until 9 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
