"DEATH OF MR. RANDALL CORBITT
Well-known and Beloved Citizen
Died Here Wednesday Morning~
The many friends over the county
of Mr. Randall Corbitt of Homerville
were shocked and grieved to learn of
his death which occurred at his home
Wednesday morning about 5:30. He
had been sick in bed only about a day
or so, though he had suffered a para-
lytic attack a few weeks ago but
was thought well again. Funeral and
burial was had at Providence (Camp
Branch) church near Manor, Thurs-
day morning at ten o'clock.
Mr. Corbitt and his wife after sell-
ing their old home place between
here and Cogdell to Timber Pro-
ducts Company last year moved to
Homerville and built a home where
they have lived quietly since Jan.
He was born in this county Feb. 25
1856 son of the late Richard Cor-
bitt. He was married 49 years ago
to Miss Sara Jane Geiger of Ware
county, and to them were born 1 1
children, all of whom survive except
one. Mr. Corbitt served 1913 - 15 as
county treasurer. He was a member
of the Primitive Baptist church at
Providence church.
A good, quiet man, he enjoyed the
respect and friendship of his fellow
citizens. "

OAK HILL - Johnnie Medders, 74, of Indian Creek Road, a retired painter and aluminum installer, died Friday at home.
Born in Douglas, Ga., Mr. Medders, an Army veteran of the Korean War, moved to this area in 1940 from Baxley, Ga. He enjoyed fishing, shrimping and stock car racing.
Survivors include his wife, Leona; three sons, Robert, Edgewater, Floyd, Clermont, and Kenneth, Alaska; a daughter, Retha Medders, Oak Hill; a brother, Conrad, Holly Hill; three sisters, Josephine Benton and Patricia Carnell, both of Daytona Beach, and Sylvia Bell, South Daytona; five grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren. Settle-Wilder, Edgewater, is in charge.
