Mr. Tuten is a well known young farmer in Pierce County.

Waycross Journal-Herald 07-22-1945, James H. Tuten, 56, lifelong resident of Pierce Co., died in a Waycross hospital Friday night following an attack which he had while at work Friday morning. Survivors are his wife, Mrs. Earnie Peacock Tuten; one daughter, Mrs. Mary Kate Douglas, Waycross; seven sons, Arthur, Eugene, and Horace Tuten of Waycross; Leroy, Donald and Julius Tuten of Blackshear, and Eldridge Tuten, United States Army, stationed at Camp Blanding, FL; one brother, W. M. Tuten, and a sister, Mrs. Bessie Raulerson, Blackshear. Funeral services will be held Saturday afternoon at 3 o'clock at the Ben James Church with Rev. M. C. Tyre in charge. Pallbearers will be Lloyd O'Quinn, Tracy Youmans, Alton O'Quinn, Wallace Stuckey, James Tuten, and Wilbur Strickland.
