Peacock- Donald Dale Peacock Sr., age 74, of Macclenny, Florida passed away January 26, 2011. Donald was born in Appling County, Georgia to the late Walter Joseph Peacock and Ethel Elizabeth Kicklighter on June 24, 1936. He has been a resident of Baker County for the last two years after moving from Clay County. He honorably served in the US Marines during the Korean War and was a car salesman for 35 years in North East Florida. Donald enjoyed fishing and playing cards.
Family members include his children: Don (Sue Anne) Peacock, Jr. of Divide, CO, Cindy Wenner of Jacksonville, FL, Joseph Aaron (Amy) Peacock of Atlanta, GA, Lorinda (Mike) Fish of Glen St. Mary, FL, Gerald (Jenni) Gonzalez of Glen St. Mary, FL; his companion: Carol Sellers of Macclenny, FL; his brother: Ronald Peacock of Interlachen, FL; his sister: Betty Tanner of Glen St. Mary, FL; his 11 grandchildren and his 5 great grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held on Friday, January 28, 2011 at 2:00 pm at V. Todd Ferreira Funeral Services Chapel. Interment will be held at Riverside Memorial Park at a later date. S. Paratrooper and Sergeant. He was involved in military battles in North Africa, Sicily, Normandy, Holland, and He was a member of the Honor Guard in Berlin at the end of the war. He was a member of the Buford American Legion Post 127. He was retired owner of Airborne Roofing and Siding and Whitford Feed and Milling Service in Franklin Grove, Illinois and Whitford Construction Company in Florida and Atlanta, Georgia. He was a member of the Epiphany Lutheran Church in Suwanee, GA.
