From the book, Colonel Joseph Glover (1719-1783) and His Descendants written by James Bolan Glover, V / published in 1996
Joseph Glover served as lieutenant colonel in the Revolutionary War. Ramsey's History of the Revolution records him as having been an adjutant of Colleton County Regiment of Foot, and was shown as lieutenant in the Order Book of the First Regiment, South Carolina Line Continentals. Many records indicate he was confined on the ship Torbay in Charleston Harbor on May 18, 1781, with a long list of other prisoners. Most family records refer to him as Captain Joseph Glover.
