From the records attached, Francois or Francis Chaudoin (showdwang) married Sarah Weaver 1753 in Germantown, Fauquier County, Virginia. They then moved south. They lived west of Richmond, Virginia which was a French Huguenot settlement. They bore John 1762, Jesse Weaver 1763, and David 1766 all christened in St James Northam Parish, Goochland, Virginia.
PARENTS OF FRANCIS (FRANCOIS) CHAUDOIN ARE UNKNOWN: from Chaudoin Rootsweb -- Please be aware that the parents given for Francois CHAUDOIN as being Alexandre CHAUDRON and Marie BOILEAU was a created family association by an early now deceased researcher (long before the internet) in order to tract his/her research. This ancestral connection is FALSE, and to continue to perpetuate this fallacy is doing a disservice to the CHAUDOIN family and to your own lineage. The Francois CHAUDRON with dates as given for the father of Francois CHAUDOIN died at age 2 years of age according to ORIGINAL French records, and should not be construed to indicate that Francois Chaudron was the French ancestor of this family line. NO proof to this day has been found to invalidate the original spelling of the surname CHAUDOIN by any other seasoned researcher. No other seasoned researcher has found evidence to support the Chaudoin to Chaudron connection. Francois Chaudoin's true parentage is yet to be unearthed! Hopefully someday we'll find the true family connection. -- Audrey (Shields) Hancock, Moderator of Chaudoin-L on RootsWeb.
