Th following information was compiled from Tom, descendant:
"His first wife was Sarah "Sallie" Edwards. She died in 1881 according to her tombstone.
About 1885 he remarried to his 2nd wife Sarah "Sallie" L Jones. She died 4 Aug 1922. Her death certificate lists her husband as D.C. Barnard and her father as Bridger Jones. The informant for her vital information was A.J. Barnard.
Further proof they are two seperate women is found in the 1880 census. In 1880, Daniel is with his wife, Sallie (Edwards). In that same census, his 2nd wife Sarah Jones is still single and living in the household of her father, Bridger Jones.
It appears that Andrew Jackson Barnard Sr. must have been born in 1881 as his WW1 draft card indicates, not 1879 as his tombstone shows. He wasn't present in the 1880 census in either his father or grandmother's house, so 1881 seems the more accurate date. It was also the same year his mother died. Some internet family trees have her death date a few days after his birthdate in 1881. So it is very likely she died from complications or an infection following childbirth.
In the 1900 census, Daniel Cuthbert Barnard is with his 2nd wife and they have a number of children together. In one census, this second wife is misindexed as Saud L, but it appears to be an incorrect transcription. Zooming in on the actual census image it seems to me that the "Saud" transcritpion is actually a very badly written "Sarah". "
