PIERSON - Thomas W. Wetherell Jr., 78, of Shell Harbor Road, a retired plumber, died Wednesday at Florida Hospital-Ormond Memorial.
Mr. Wetherell was born in Daytona Beach, and was a lifelong resident of Volusia County. He was a member of the Plumbers Union and the American Bowling Congress. Mr. Wetherell was an Army veteran of World War II where he was a member of the General MacArthur Honor Guard and was his personal driver. He was a lifetime member of the 35th Infantry Regiment Association. He enjoyed bowling, softball and fishing.
Survivors include a son, Thomas III, and a daughter, Velma Corbin, both of Pierson; two sisters, Clara Capps, DeLeon Springs, and Charlee Hendrix, Jefferson, Ga.; and three grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to the American Cancer Society, 1620 S. Clyde Morris Blvd., Suite 300, Daytona Beach, FL 32119. Allen-Summerhill, DeLand, is in charge.
