John Andrews, 82, of Howes Street, a former manufacturer of brushes in Ohio, died Tuesday at Ocean View Nursing and Rehabilitation Center.
Mr. Andrews, an Army veteran of World War II, where he earned the Purple Heart, was born in Ohio and moved to this area in 1956 from his birthplace.
Survivors include a friend, Howard Hansen, Oak Hill, who provided for his care. Settle-Wilder, New Smyrna Beach, is in charge.

Bret Leaston Norris, 38, died suddenly at home on Tuesday. A lifelong resident of the New Smyrna Beach-Edgewater area, Bret had a passion for surfing, skateboarding, gardening, fishing, and spending time with his nieces and nephews. He loved to help, whether it was mowing one sister's lawn or changing the other's flat tire, Bret tried to meet a need when he saw it. He was an avid reader and science fiction enthusiast. Bret is survived by his father, Buddy (Laurie) Norris; mother, Eve (Jim) Thomas; sisters Ann Norris Russo and Lea (Mike) Bartos; nieces and nephews Andrew and Savannah Weaver, Brendan Russo, Sara, Kraig and Gage Bartos. A memorial will be held today (Friday, July 26) at 4pm at Bella Vista Baptist Church in Edgewater. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bella Vista Baptist Church.

She is survived by her husband of 67 years, Lloyd Bigelow; daughters, Becky (Tim) Hermann of Stow, Candy (Bill) Hale of Akron; five grandchildren, Amanda (Shawn) Lorentz, Abigail (Dominic) Boull't, Matilda (Patrick) McKelvey, Marshall and Keith Jonas; seven great-grandchildren, Lloyd, Isabella, Sage, Eliza, Audrey, Kyrie and Cora. She was preceded in death by her parents, Thelma and John Syx; brothers, Ellis Syx and Ted Syx; sister, Mary Jane Bigelow; son-in-law, Randy Jonas and great-grandchild, Cyle Lorentz.Memorial service were held on Monday, August 10, 2015 at 11 a.m. at Bethany United Church of Christ, 1235 Broad Blvd., Cuyahoga Falls 44223.
