Mr. Woodard, member of one of the most widely known families of this section of Georgia, had spent his entire life in this immediate section, being recognized as one of Ware county's ablest farmers.
He succumbed after a short illness, having been stricken following church services Sunday before last, eleven days ago.
He was born Nov. 18, 1870, son of Ambrose Woodard and Ardelia Dowling Woodard, life-long pioneer residents of Ware county. He was a brother of the late D.A. Mr. Woodard was a devoted member of the Congregational Methodist Church since boyhood, being affiliated with the Whitehall Church which is located in his community. He served for many years as a steward.
He is survived by his wife; by four sons, Lonnie Woodard, Oscar Woodard, Andy Woodard and Willie Woodard and three daughters, Miss Correne (Corine) Woodard, Miss Ardelia Woodard and Mrs. J.P. Adams of Waycross; one sister Mrs. A. A. Warren of Waycross; also fifteen grandchildren.
The funeral services will be held Friday morning at 11:30 o'clock at the residence with the Rev. Lee Sweat officiating. Burial will be in the Mount Pleasant Cemetery.
