Frank C. Arant (1894-1958), 85, died suddenly at his home in Peniel last night.
Funeral arrangements will be announced by Johnson-Davis Funeral Home.
The deceased was a life-long resident of Putnam County; a deacon in the Peniel Baptist Church; member of Vineland Lodge No. 86, F&AM; veteran of World War I, and was employed at the U.S. Navy at Green Cove Springs.
Survivors include his wife Mrs. Nellie C. Becks Arant, and two sons, George Franklin and Robert S. of Peniel; one daughter, Mrs. Carl Ruby Maybelle Johnson, Williamsburg, Va.; one brother, Dr. Carl P. Arant, Miami; three sisters, Mrs. Blanche Hunt, Okeechobee, Mrs. W. K. Turner, Peniel, and Mrs. Ethel Roberts, Palatka; and four grandchildren. Palatka Daily News, Wednesday, 29 Oct 1958.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 3 p.m. in the Peniel Baptist Church. Rev. M. L. Green will officiate and interment will be in Peniel Cemetery with graveside rites conducted by Vineland Lodge No. 56, F&AM, and Bert Hodge Post No. 45, American Legion. The remains of Mrs Edward Meadows, who died in a Baltimore hospital last Friday were brought to Alderson on No 3 Saturday morning and were taken to the home of her mother, Mrs Sexton, at Pence Springs. The funeral was held on Monday and interment was made in the Alderson cemetery. Mrs Meadows formerly lived at Glenray.
The deceased was in her twenty-second year and besides her husband. a daughter five years old, her mother, four brother and five sisters survive her.
