Woodruff (Captain Ruff) Allman, 80, of Church Street, a retired commercial fisherman, died Wednesday at Halifax Medical Center, Daytona Beach.
Mr. Allman came here 57 years ago from his native Osteen. He was a member of the First Baptist Church and enjoyed fishing and gardening.
Survivors include his wife of 58 years, Clara; two sons, Gordon, Port Orange, and Carl, Osteen; two daughters, Gail Atkins, Titusville, and Cheryl Kruse, Daytona Beach Shores; a brother, V.P., Osteen; a sister, Pearl King, Sanford; 11 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren. Memorial donations may be made to Hospice of Volusia/Flagler, 3800 Woodbriar Trail, Port Orange 32119 or to the Beacon Baptist Church, 2315 Beville Road, Daytona Beach 32119. Cardwell is in charge.

Banner "Earl" Strickland, 85 passed away peacefully at home August 7, 2021. He was preceded in death by his wife & soul mate of 65+ years, Elizabeth Annette Strickland.
Born April 20, 1936 to William & Daisy Strickland (deceased), the youngest of their seven children, all boys.
A life long resident of Florida, Earl was a self made man, proudly serving in the United States Army, during the Korean War, married Annette June 16, 1956. Proud father of Cheryl Merritt (Rusty), Barbara Stricklin (Owen), Banner "Buddy" Strickland (Darlene).
Grandaddy to Justin Merritt (Stacey), Kelley Aschenbrenner (Shane), Sarah Merritt (Alex Lloyd), Charlene Gunn (DeAnte'), Nadege Belizaire, Rose-Vana Seneus, Jonas Metellus, Jeffrey Stricklin, Mary Lytle (George), Johnathan Strickland (Michelle), Christopher Strickland (Crystal); Great Grandaddy to, Reilly Merritt, Delaney Merritt, Emma Merritt, Hope Merritt, Ethan Aschenbrenner, Landon Aschenbrenner, Sakani Gunn, Caroline Rose Strickland & coming soon Barbara Jane Lytle.
He had a love for life, telling stories & jokes, bluegrass music, fishing, animals on our farm, traveling, BBQing, friends & coworkers, fixing things & sometimes even breaking things. He was the original MacGyver, there was nothing he couldn't do.His love for all of us was unconditional, there was never any doubt of that. So this is not goodbye, we will love & miss him until the day we are reunited in Glory.
