Her mother died on 7 Jan 1850.
On the 26 Sep 1850 Eastern, Amherst Co., VA census, I found farmer Aaron Higginbotham, 62; Leanna B, 14; BETSEY, 12; laborers: Benjn W, 19; Cyrus, 16 and Robert 26, all VA born.
On the 1870 Pedlar, Amherst Co., VA census, I found William C Bibb, 33; Bettie A Bibb, 30; Margaret E Bibb, 7; Allie Bibb, 3 and Baxter H Bibb, 21, all VA born.
On the 1880 Pedlar, Amherst Co., VA census, I found farmer William C BIbb, 44; wife Betty A Bibb, 45; daughters: Maggie Bibb, 16; Alf_?_ (sic) Bibb, 11 and son Robt A Bibb, 7; plus servant/farmer Charles Davis, 18, all VA born.
On the 1900 Pedlar Dist., Amherst Co., VA census, I found farmer W C Bibb, 65, born Apr 1835; wife of 37 years, Betty A, 65, Dec 1835, had 3 kids, all living; widowed son Bob, 27, Jul 1873 and grandson William H, 3, Jul 1896, all VA born.
William and Bettie are listed as the parents on Amherst Co., VA marriages of children: Maggie B Bibb (to William C Waugh, 4 Feb 1885, son of Wm N & Melissa Waugh); Allie P Bibb (to Alfred M Ware, 28 May 1890, son of Ludwall & Susan J Ware) and Robert A Bibb (to Ollie B Tomlinson, 12 Sep 1894, daughter of Geo & Mildred Tomlinson).
Son, Robert A Bibb's 22 Mar 1914 VA Death Certificate lists parents Wm Bibb and Bettie Higginbotham.
Bettie A. Bibb, December 1834 - August 1904 was buried here. Cemetery was surveyed 4 Aug 2008 by J & F Nixon.
"Mrs. Bettie Bibb (Special to The Times-Dispatch.) PERA, VA., August 9.-Mrs. Bettie Bibb, a very aged lady, died at her home last Tuesday night, near Oak Grove Church. Although she had been in failing health for some time, her dath came very unexpectedly to her friends and neighbors. She was a member of Oak Grove Baptist Church. She leaves an aged husband, who is an ex-Confederate soldier and is very feeble, and survied by two children also." The Times Dispatch (Richmond, VA) dated 10 Aug 1904. Public domain (see photo).
