Bryant Eugene Guthrie, 85, of Valdosta, died on Saturday, March 28, 2020 at Haven Hospice in Lake City, Florida. He was born on September 23, 1934 in Pearson, Georgia to the late Linton and Martha Lee Wilson Guthrie. Mr. Guthrie was retired from South Georgia Medical Center where he worked in the housekeeping department and had attended the Azalea City Church of God. He loved helping others and volunteered for the food bank and with Azalea City. He also loved being outside and working in his yard. He was known for his servants heart.
He is survived by two brothers and sisters-in-law, Joseph and Sue Guthrie of Lake Worth, Florida, and Glenn and Judy Guthrie of Cleveland, Georgia; numerous nieces and nephews.
A graveside service for Bryant Eugene Guthrie will be held at the Shady Rest Cemetery in Daytona Beach, Florida on Thursday, April 2, 2020 at 2 p.m. A private family visitation will be held at the Carson McLane Funeral Home. LAKE WALES - Mrs. Melba O. Blair, 90, of Lake Wales, died Sunday, May 2, 2010, at Palm Garden of Winter Haven. She was born in Mayo, Florida on November 11, 1919 and moved to Lake Wales in 1939 from Frostproof. She retired after forty years as a laboratory technician at Florida's Natural Growers. She was a member of New Harvest Worship Center in Lake Wales. Survivors include her daughter Teresa Deal and husband Charles, son Ronald Blair and wife Joann, both of Lake Wales, grandchildren, eleven great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. Her husband Golden Blair preceded her in death.
